According to a study by the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, women who live in a less organized environment with more clutter are more likely to feel depressed throughout the day than a woman living in a more organized environment. A more organized and finished home creates a restorative environment and can make you feel happier as the day goes on.
One important part of the study indicates that perception has a big influence on how you describe or consider your space. Have a more positive perception then you're more likely to feel happier during the day.
If you're feeling a little overwhelmed start small and work your way up to the big jobs. Make your life a little happier one small step at a time! Start with organizing your purse. Take everything out and decide what you must have in your purse and put it into a pile. Put everything else into a second pile - like that bill that you stuck in your purse, simply file it away in your file folder or those cards you picked up at a local craft fair, put them in a ziplock in your folder. Only carry the things you really need and keep yourself feeling free, organized and happy!
